Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood samples as required.
• Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens.
• Maintain patient records accurately and organize them in the system.
• Handle and process specimens in accordance with established guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
• Provide support and comfort to patients, explaining procedures as necessary.
• Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
• Coordinate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care and specimen management.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in phlebotomy or a related field.
• Proficiency in performing venipunctures and skin punctures.
• Knowledge of safety protocols for handling bloodborne pathogens.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and exhibit a sensitive approach to patient care.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Inter or equivalent.
• Certification in Phlebotomy (CPT) or a similar credential.

Working Conditions

On-site work in a clinical or healthcare setting.
