We are currently looking for a Transactional Finance Assistant on behalf of one of our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to support essential financial operations within a fast-paced environment.
Role Summary
You will be responsible for accurate processing, reconciliations, and query resolution, ensuring timely support to the wider finance function. Your work will span payroll, payments, and both sales and purchase ledger activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ledger Management: Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and purchase orders; raise sales invoices and manage customer accounts and outstanding debt.
- Payment Processing: Prepare BACS, CHAPS, direct debit, and card payment files while ensuring rigorous approval and security controls.
- Payroll Support: Assist with the preparation of timesheets, overtime, deductions, and payroll change information.
- Reconciliations: Conduct bank and supplier statement reconciliations while maintaining accurate audit trails.
- Query Resolution: Act as a professional point of contact for resolving supplier, customer, and internal finance inquiries.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Proven background in transactional finance, accounts payable/receivable, or payroll administration.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or similar finance systems).
- Accuracy: Exceptional attention to detail in data entry and payment processing.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage high-volume processing while meeting strict deadlines in a busy finance environment.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to month-end close processes, such as accruals, prepayments, and finance reporting packs.
- Previous experience in multi-site, multi-entity, or high-volume business environments.
