The Event Interior Designer will translate client briefs into visually compelling and practical event environments, developing concepts, layouts, and technical drawings that align with approved budgets and site requirements. Working closely with client servicing, production, fabricators, and other teams, the individual will oversee the design process from concept development through on-site installation, ensuring that approved designs are executed accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop event concepts, mood boards, colour palettes, material selections, furniture arrangements, and decor treatments based on client briefs.
  • Design entrances, stages, backdrops, branded spaces, lounges, seating and dining areas, exhibition spaces, and other event zones.
  • Conduct site visits to verify measurements, circulation, access, and installation constraints before finalising layouts.
  • Produce presentation visuals, dimensioned plans, elevations, and technical drawings to support quotations, fabrication, and installation.
  • Specify materials, finishes, dimensions, and quantities, preparing design schedules and bills of quantities in coordination with production and the cost controller.
  • Coordinate with fabricators, florists, lighting teams, and signage vendors on technical details, samples, and mock-ups.
  • Maintain drawing versions and design approval records, communicating design changes and their cost or timeline implications before production begins.
  • Review on-site installations against approved designs, help resolve execution issues, and document final design adjustments.

Key Requirements

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in event, exhibition, interior, hospitality, or temporary-space design.
  • Strong understanding of spatial planning, proportions, materials, detailing, fabrication, and installation requirements.
  • Ability to create clear visualisations, renders, presentations, and technical drawings for production teams.
  • A relevant degree or diploma in Design or Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated practical ability.
  • Willingness to conduct site surveys and participate in installation reviews as required.
