Group Internal Auditor and Cost Controller (Relocation to Kenya Required)

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 & 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 (ONSITE ROLE IN KENYA)

We are hiring for one of our clients, a leading agricultural exporter and manufacturer in Kenya. They need a hands-on Group Internal Auditor & Cost Controller to build and run the internal audit and cost control framework across the Group and its affiliated companies. This is a Group-level management role reporting to the Group CFO.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘀
🔺 Build and run a risk-based audit programme across all Group companies
🔺 Audit financial, operational, procurement, inventory and compliance areas
🔺 Spot control gaps, irregularities and fraud risks
🔺 Write audit reports with findings, exposure and corrective actions, and follow up on implementation
🔺 Handle special investigations and support the Group CFO on governance
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹
🔺 Develop and maintain costing methods for fresh produce, packhouse operations and avocado oil processing
🔺 Track standard vs actual costs (per kg, carton, tonne and litre)
🔺 Analyse yields, recovery rates, wastage and processing losses
🔺 Review profitability and cost variances, and find savings without hurting quality
🔺 Audit production and inventory valuations
𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺, 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 & 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘀
🔺 Audit farms, packhouses, processing facilities and warehouses
🔺 Verify produce receipts, grading, packing, dispatch and stock movements
🔺 Review controls over inputs, chemicals, packaging and consumables
🔺 Investigate gaps between physical production, ERP records and financial reports
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 & 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆
🔺 Check POs, invoices, GRNs and payment documents, and reconcile supplier accounts
🔺 Catch duplicate payments, unsupported transactions and procurement fraud
🔺 Run periodic and surprise stock counts and reconcile with ERP and accounts
🔺 Monitor stock ageing, slow-moving and obsolete items, and inter-company transfers
𝗘𝗥𝗣, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴
🔺 Review ERP controls, user access and audit trails with IT and finance teams
🔺 Check compliance with accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements
🔺 Support external audits and review inter-company reconciliations
🔺 Deliver monthly audit and cost control reports, variance reports and dashboards to the Group CFO

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
🔺 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field
🔺 ACCA / CPA / CA or equivalent is mandatory (CIA or CIMA is a plus)
🔺 8 to 10 years of experience, including 3 to 5 years in internal audit, cost control or financial controls
🔺 Background in manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, FMCG, fresh produce or export businesses
🔺 Strong production costing and inventory control experience
🔺 Experience auditing multiple companies or business units
🔺 Solid ERP knowledge and advanced Excel
🔺 Willing to visit farms, packhouses and warehouses regularly
🔺 Agri, perishables or export experience is highly preferred
